| Quote: The one on the rear suspension is meant to look like a swaybar but its not fixed to the body so its not a swaybar.. Look closer at what its bracing. this is just jewlery for your car with no actual structural benefits.. If this was meant to increase regitity then they would tied around the tops of your strut towers... | |||||||||

| I was talking to my mate at work today about this. I dont belive that most of those bars would make much of a difference if any except to your wallet. ![]() Ive marked 2 boxes in a pic. Box 1 is a hollow tube that runs the length of the rear axle. this hollow section does allow the axle to twist slightly but when I look at it and how beefy it is I then fail to see how that sway bar could possibly make a difference.. My mate ponited out that this is the same rear end style in the late model carolla's and they do a similar thing as well to this. The swaybar is parrallel to the axle reducing its twisting force and it does work in the carrolla well enough. So this may have some effect on the cars handling but I still cannot see how that little bar could have more effect than the axle beam itself. Box 2. The brace is run parrallel to existing boxing on the chasis rails. Again another strong looking piece of toyota engineering. The cross box that its bridgeing is still connected to the same rails, so if the rails are twisting already then I can see how it would help... I dont mean offence to the person offering this but if you could post video evidence of a std car cornering and then your braced up version cornering then that might sell your braces.. You know the old addage, action speaks louder than words. Clint | ||||||||
