From Cheddar if you drive up the gorge and out onto the mendips you can get gloriously lost and end up in Burrington Coombe (Rock of ages hymn written by someone who sheltered there) or in Wookey hole- which has a paper making factory there too and is close to Glastonbury (lots of hippies among athor things) and Street where Clarks started making shoes. |
Rock of ages I think was written by Augustus Montague Toplady, That is what I have found
