Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Cambridge | Gutted by this - I've seen him on the island and he was one of the greats.
Condolences to his wife Louise, and 3 sons William, Daniel and Michael.
He didn't seem to make mistakes, just the bike sometimes let him down - I remember in '94 he had a rear wheel collapse in the TT at Ballaugh - I was marshalling up at the mountain box, and the news went around like wildfire.
I really believe that if it were not for the injuries he received in that accident, he would have matched his brother Joey's achievements.
This time, it seems that it was a high speed seizure.
RIP Robert, thanks for the memories, and enjoy the roads up there. |
