| Announced earlier this month by new London mayor Boris Johnson, alcohol drinking ban applies to the Tube, London buses, Docklands Light Railway and tram services and stations... it has also been alleged that: a drinking ban may also be included on domestic local flights for the future. This week-end just passed: Police arrested 17 people and had to close six London Underground stations after a party involving thousands of revellers to mark the last day of drinking alcohol on the tube turned ugly. Six assaults were reported on underground rail staff and police. Several damaged trains had to be withdrawn from service on a night of mayhem by revellers. Whereas: Spain, especially Alicante airport had no such problems being reported this passed week-end and obviously; no arrests. Newcastle airport last week seen an invasion of customs officers stopping each and every person arriving back into the UK. (Is that called a blanket stop? I wonder). Then this week-end: immigration officers, but NOT a single customs officer on duty ,and no x-ray operatives, and no passengers stopped. (Yeah… they must have been on duty, only in a different airport me thinks). I wonder if the drug traffickers also knew that information. Answers on the back of a postage stamp please, and send to your local MP.
