Default Not all teens are hoodies.

Just shows what happens when they are given something worthwhile to do.

My eldest when doing his queen scouts award hike in the mountains between switzerland and italy carried one of his team members for the last 5 hours (she twisted her ankle) so that the team did not fail and more recently last week bill my 16 year old son carried one of his mates for the last mile of our hadrains wall hike just so that they would get to end first and show us oldies up. yes you are right all they need is some direction in life but we know where that starts dont we.

my son wants to join Army Cadets bt cant offically join til he is 13, he has only just turned 11, anyway a lad that lives across the road is up at the local division and came across to discuss a few things, and my son was told that he can go up and do everything but cant wear the uniform or go on the camps etc until he joins when he is 13 , so i will be letting him go up there in a couple of weeks and see how he goes, but i beleive if the local councils did more for the youngsters then i dont think there would be as much trouble on the streets ...Debbie

Debs i have met your kids and i have to say they have respect, This in my experience of working with young people is one of the most important values in life that makes young people turn into well balanced adults and should be instilled in young people from the start by parents.
Its realy easy to spot how a new scout/cub ect is going to behave when meeting parents and you can easily see why they behave as they do sometimes after meeting the parents.
In my Book parents that can be bothered generaly produce good young people into society
