It's not going to have a filler cap, you will fill it via the dipdtick tube. The dipstick will be visible under the bonnet, but not the engine one (sorry to be vague, but we have a 3 litre model, which is a different layout) as regards the fluid type, if it's not listed under the bonnet with a grade, then you will need to speak to your local motor factor & see if they have a listing for the fluid or that of an equivalent Previa.

I would also invest in one of the JPNZ handbooks for the Estima, as this would show where all the various dipsticks etc are & what fluids are used throughout the vehicle. I got mine on Fleabay.

Regards, Rob.

It might be useful before you start to buy a small funnel and some small bore piping....such a the sort used for fish tanks.....
Put the funnel in the pipe, and the pipe into the dipstick hole, and slowley pour the oil into the funnel....other wise you will end up with most of your new gear oil on the drive...

Carrying on from Ang's advice, make sure you use the right procedure for checking the translission fluid. It needs to be checked at the correct temperature & may require the vehicle to have been through the gears before checking the level.

The dipstick on a 3Ltr is down by the battery......(red top)...might be the same on a 2.4......

according to a Previa owners manual i have acquired The Auto transmission fluid is Type T-IV

EDIT ... to above

If you have the VVi engine ... It may be prudent to check with a Toyota dealer what the correct spec fluid is for your model ...
