| hi everyone my lucida is overheating and the garage has said its a cracked head gasket an maybe a cracked cylender head when i go over 25mph an over 10 mile the temp gage goes sky hi the garage has told me it would cost £2000 to repair my car is a 97yr any help on this would be great i live in blackpool anyone know any good repair garages that dont rip you off as i dont think this would cost any where near that price cheers | ||||||||

| you need to get in touch with buffalobob on this site, i'm sure he charges around £1250 for a new cylinder and he can also check that is what it is for you, I had similar problems to yourself and was told it was the cylinder head when it was actually the water pump which is a lot cheaper, all the best sarah

| Hi and welcome to the forum. Another thing is are you having difficulty starting the engine or clouds of white smoke, these can be indications of head failure. Would also recommend contacting BuffalloBob | ||||||||

| hiya thank you for answer no no smoke and engine starts fine also had new themo and rad flushed out | ||||||||
