| Hiya all! I Have a bit of a problem....when I tried to open the sliding door on my '94 Previa I got a bit of a shock when the handle came off in my hand! One end (the end near the lock) had snapped inside the door and the other end is still intact but without the pin which had also broken inside the door. The door won't open now from the inside so I obviously need to take the door trim panel off with the door closed so that I can get at the mechanism to at least open/close the door but I'm not sure how to go about this. As it is, the door is not closed properly and the warning light on the dash is on which may drain the battery? Any advice would be much appreciated!! That's the last time I have three shredded wheat for breakfast........ ![]() Cheers, Greg. | ||||||||

| Thats tough greg....can you do the bum dance and close the door that way? with your butt...... just an idea..... Can you unlock / undo the door from the outside with the key? You Will need a new / second hand handle to make it all good. try the many breakers out there or even fleabay. ade.

| What you will have is the cable to the rear latch stretched so it did not unlock when you pulled the handle is the child lock on as well therefore stopping you from opening from the inside bit fiddly but you need to get this of as well but you have covered the hard ground removing the panel bob | ||||||||

| Finally got around to ordering some handles now that I've got a bit of spare cash!! The really surprising thing is that the scrappy's were asking between £20 - £25 for the exterior handle and £15 - £20 for the interior handle (!!!???) yet Toyota can supply me with both, new,PLUS the cable for £68 so I ordered the lot as I might have ended up in the same boat buying second hand...... Thanks for all the advice, Greg. Last edited by Greg Ledder; 14th July 2008 at 11:13 PM.. | ||||||||
