![]() | Hi all, This is my first post and not really a joyous one either. I bought a 1996 townace exactly this time last year, one month later the pulley parted company with the crankshaft and bounced down the M25 at 80 mph. (sorry if anyone hit it!) I called the dealer who I bought it from and he told me to get it back to him and he'd sort it out for me. I got it back to him but after a couple weeks I hadn't heard anything from him so I called him. He told me that he was having trouble sourcing parts from Japan but if stuck with him he'd sort it. 5 months later, several letters threatening legal action and dozens of phone calls he finally called me to let me know that it was back on the road. I picked it up from him in mid November. 2 weeks ago my wife and little one were out in the townace when she heard a bang, it was the pulley again. Turns out that all the dealer had done was weld the pulley to the end of the damaged crankshaft. I called the dealer but he's gone quiet on me and to be honest I don't want to have anything more to do with him. My solicitor has told me that the best course of action is to get a quote for the work which Bob at Home is kindly looking after for me and then take the dealer to a small claims court to recover my costs once I have paid Bob to carry out the work. Anyone have any experience of this sort of thing? |

![]() | Hi there and welcome to the forum.... ![]() What a rotten introduction into the Toyota world eh....you must be really fed up by now. I haven't had anything like this, but, if Bob is sorting the van out, then it will be done properly, and once done by Bob, you will have the confidence in it then to enjoy it....beacause he is very very good. Good luck with sorting out the garage. Ang x
