I used to run at an athletics club as a kid. Sometimes in winter (was not an afluent area) kids would turn up without winter coats / waterproofs. If it rained the coach would cut holes in black sacks and make them waterproofs to go home in.
The kids were embarrassed: to which he would reply that they were dry and the others taking the mickey were wet. So who was silly ?
