![]() | HI there, Last couple of weeks I have put in Petrol/SVO in the car but lately it has been very smokie again? I had a cracked head before but that was smokie all the time I run the car till I meanded it. This time it is very smokie to start with and ones I drive it clears. Than when engine is still cold and stop at traffic light it gets smokie again? Do you know what might be wrong? Also sometimes when starting up the starter motor doesn't do anything. 3 or 4 times later it will go. Thanks, Soccergoods Last edited by soccergoods; 18th July 2008 at 04:10 PM. |

![]() | Smoking when cold (Blue smoke) shows you could have a duff glow plug or two, as two or three cylinders will be running nice and hot, and others will be failing to burn all the fuel in a cool cylinder. Try throwing in some injector cleaner into the fuel tank as well, that helps as well clear any partially blocked injectors giving a poor spray pattern inside the cylinders. If its white smoke, then that could be worrying. more advice to follow..... as others more knowledgeable log on.... ![]()

![]() | hope its just the starter contacts but it could be hydraulic lock (cracked head) is the smoke white/light grey. You could remove glow plugs one by one when engine has cooled and turn engine slowly by hand to see if water comes out from the glow plug holes.
