There is a large lum in front of the condensor, which is the liquid receiver, mine is on top of that

Only early (to 1994) R12 refrigerant models have a working sight glass. Later models had one but it was blacked out as you cannot check R134A refrigerant by studying bubbles.

The only way to check is take out the refrigerant and refill with the correct amount. Qwikfit for £40 odd is a good deal. Needs doing every three years.

I have found the sight glass between rad and bumper and you can see bubbles as compressor cuts in, but it is marked up as having r134 gas????? Air con man is on his way to top up or flush out and refill.
