I've got a cunning plan.....

Get him to Bromsgrove and let Clive and Bob take him a ride round.....let them see if they can suss it out.....

Clive can take him over 4000 revs, and Bob can watch the temp ....

Only if you sit in the back and have some more fits!

If Bobs up for it I am.

How about selling tickets for a ride in Toby at 90MPH?

Not 90...... just a bit quicker than normal.....but not that quick....

And I couldn't stand another run in there at Clive speed.....cos my Toby doesn't go that quick.....

CLive, I don't think Bob will require much persuading. If he does, I will promise him chocolate or a smell of Bacon

1 bar of choc for Clive and Bob....

That's one each....not one between them....cos I know I'm a scrat but even I'm not that mean....

And then if Bob and Clive both tell me it's normal, I'll be a happy bunny....

Toby's brakes are being done today.....well, the back ones are.....

The shop has twice provided the wrong front pads, and Kev, who is doing the job is livid. He has had to take the wheels off twice to check that they won't fit, and has taken them back twice.

At least with the back ones done I'm ok for Bromsgrove, cos the front ones have some life left in them yet.....but he will change them when I get back, if not before.

Then there is just the higher temp to check out and Toby is ready.

But I have a theory now about the temp. With the black fluid in the gearbox, the gears were changing quicker and so the engine was running cooler.....cos the revs were always so low. Now it has the proper fluid in, the gears are chnaging later as they should, and like Bob says, it will be running a bit hotter cos the revs are higher.

Bit I have the Mason alarm set to the cooler temp don't I.....

So I'm wondering now if I alter the alarm to the new running temp, if it will bring the needle on the gauge back to where it should be.....and put my paranoia back under lock and key....

adjusting the alarm wont alter the temp gauge,if it isn't sounding it is fine.if it does sound try adjusting to a slightly higher number on dial.

Glyn has gone to the parts shop to get the second brake cylinder......cos the first one that should have been fitted today was like the three lots of brake shoes/pads.....the wrong damned ones.....

Toby has been up and down the ramps till he is dizzy....wheels on....wheels off...wheels on...wheels off....

3 days to the meet, and if the parts place don't get thier finger out, me and my Toby are running out of time.... and if I run out of time and my boy isn't ready for Bromsgrove, then the shop really won't like it when I go in to see them....

Fingers crossed everyone....

Update on Toby....

The rear brakes and the cylinder are done.....

The front pads aren't done....cos they sent the wrong ones again...both Glyn and Kev took them back, and I think Glyn went to stop Kev wrapping them round the shop guy's head....

The new pads.....how many times have I said that.......will be here for 10.30am today, and then Kev will do the front ones too. If the pads are wrong again, I've told him to leave them till I get back from Bromsgrove....cos there's plenty of brake on the front to get me there and back....

So....2 days.....and I have to get him cleaned, hoovered inside to get rid of the winter dust.....put his decals on......pack him up.....
