Default Dashboard lights staying on

Hi,
Can anyone help PLEASE we are all geared up for coming to Woodvale and hubby was fiddling around with things- on the car. Now when the ignition is turned on most of the lights on the dash stay on. He has checked the alternator and fuses and is now at a loss can anyone point us in the right direction. He is usually able to solve most things but this is getting us down.
thanks

Default IC regulator

hubby has tested all other relevant bits and is sure the problem lies with the regulator. Toyota have quoted me £126.31 for a replacement is this mormal price.
Most of the breakers yards up in our neck of the woods don't seem to know what we are talking about. - one even hung up on me.

From the description you gave of all the dash lights being on while the engine is running I would say you have some open circuit diodes in the rectifier pack. (I'm assuming you meant while the engine was running)

Toyota charge around £101 for the rectifier pack but, an alternator specialist should be able to do it for £40 or less and unlike toyota they should have it sitting on the shelf.

I agree. I had a good auto electrician near me who did this on a Nissan I had. Cost £20 and he was done in under an hour....that was to strip the alternator down ( I had already taken it off the car ), repair it and re-assemble it.

Good job really as it happened on the day we were to go on holiday.
