I take it the battery's not dry?

Hi TLC,

when it comes to jump starting you don't connect both leads to the battery, well not on the estima anyway and I would guess an Ace may be the same, there is an excerpt from the manual in the members tips and tutorials section, basically with the estima you connect the neutral to any metal part of the bodywork so that may help. As for the battery even so called maintenance free ones can need topping up with water so may be a good place to start

Yep, that seems to be the problem, one chamber is a bit down, the other one half...Didn't bother to check the rest as I assume they're all low/empty

Sarah that applies to all cars not just Estimas but you can still connect to the battery, its the only ive ever done it.

Only use deionised water from the garage/halfords.....dont use tap water.

Not in a Transit cos thae battery is under the drivers seat.....

As you can just make out in this pic the + is on the battery but the - is conected around the bonnet latch area....
