Could be the reason? the wife usually has very little fuel in there!

I would aim at what Bob has just mentioned (glow plugs) but regarding the fuel i always keep the tank at least a quarter full as i don't want to drag 14 years of crap from the bottom of the fuel tank

turn all your lights on. then turn ignition on, if the dash lights dim when glowplug light comes on i'd say they are ok.

Thanks - I was just trying to think of a quick and dirty test, and that's it! Of course, this will not indicate if one has failed, but the "won't start in the cold" symptom would point at a total failure. If just one has failed the engine should start - albeit rather lumpily - on the other three.

If the lights don't dim, then I'd be looking for a fairly heavy duty blown fuse...

First if you are having trouble starting check to see when you are cranking if you have white smoke coming out of the exhaust as you are cranking then you are getting fuel but no heat.
So if you have smoke check the glow plug fuse above the battery if you cannot see through the plastic then prise the lid of the fuse
If the fuse is gone you will be able as a temp measure bend the bits of fuse together to make contact. If the fuse is ok then check with a tast light or meter that you have a feed to the glow plug barthat links all of the plugs.
If thats ok then you will be looking at plugs but plugs will not all go at once.
If you have no white smoke then it is likley you have no fuel so by pumping the primer on top of the filter you will or should get it to satrt easier if so then you need to look for a leak.
This could be anywhere from the injector return rail back to the pump and all the way back to the primer housing itself which can be at fault.

Hello all again! For those of you who were trying to help me out on this one...Sorry!! BT Broadband cut me off for paying my hole year in 5 months but now I am back online!! The estima is still doing the same thing but I have come to the conclusion that there is not enough fuel pressure? Last night the wife had to go to work so I went out to try and start the bus but this time I lifted passenger seat to get to engine bay and pumped the fuel filter which had no pressure, then the bus started with the jump leads on!! The pressure doesent stay in system and I have noticed the fuel pump is leaking slightly could this be the reason? Maybe a fuel line or something? Pump shouldent leak with diesel but does with veg and havent used any for for months!Any ideas would be great?!
