Default A couple of Problems on my bus

I've finally got used to my estima, but she has a couple of niggly problems to sort out.

1) The Turbo light is intermittant, If you accelerate gently it comes on, try accelerating hard (for example from traffic lights) and it does not come on, back off for a second or 2 and it comes on. It might be just me but it seems to go better with the light on. I can hear the Turbo spinning up.

2) The aircon is not working.... at all, On pressing the A/C switch there is no click, no increase in revs, nothing. The clutch does not engage.

Any suggestions will be welcomed. I'm fairly conversent with electrics etc etc

My turbo light comes on when I press hard enough on the accelerator to trigger it and then it stays on till I let the pedal come up a bit so the threshold is no longer reached...

When you switch the aircon on, is the fan switched on? The aircon will only work when the fan is running.

Hello and welcome.

Can't help you with the turbo light, mine doesn't have one but someone will be along soon with more advice.

Regarding air con, look under bonnet and see if the aircon belt is in place.
My bus has 3 belts. On my bus the aircon compressor is on the left. Just a thought.
Good luck, Billy.

Turbo boost light only comes on when it gives enough boost pressure.
Air con will not switch on if gas is low it has a pressure switch in the system

Hi if the air con is low in gas, it will not turn on. They have a built in mechanism to prevent damage which will occur if they were to run empty

cheers all.

I never thought about the low pressure switch. On the surf the aircom pump will run even without any gas in the system?

I've had my dealings wiht qwik-fit-fitters before.... I'm surprised they can actually find the engine!
