Default gearbox problem

hi i,m a new member. i need advice thanks i have a 94 estima automatic the gearbox will not change to 4th or overdrive

What colour is the transmission oil? It should be red. If it is black, then it is past its best and could do with changing. That might be your problem.

my gearbox oil is black and it wont go into top gear untill the engine is warm

mine can run all day and it will not change up to top even when is doing nearly 50[80k.]

It will only go into top when hot and OVER 50mph. I presume you have gone over 50 mph to test?
Do you have a mph electronic converter (speedo)? These can cause problems.
