Default It had a light tapping and then it just stopped

I went to this one today with a light tapping just before it stopped
can you see whats wrong appart from the oil everywhere.

can see a loose bolt to the right hand side of pump bracket,and a bolt and what appears to be a piece of metal casing on top of engine and under pump.

rattling bolt?

but that wouldn't cause the oil.... looks like a big end shell through the block to me

Translation for the above:
light tapping = LOUD KNOCKING.
stopped = exploded.

Now I know what the acronym PCV stands for - Punctured Crankcase Ventilation!

I agree. Paul's "Metal casing" looks very much like a big end
