Hi, I'm relatively new to the site and I was looking through it to see if anyone else had the same problem I've got with my Lucy when I came across your post. A few months ago my Lucy had the same problem you have with Ophiuchus. I was advised by a mechanic to try Thermagasket (It costs £30). Best £30 ever spent no problems since putting it in. Just thought I'd let you know, sorry if I'm out of order sending this but I've never used a site like this before but it's the best site on the planet. Good luck, hope you get it fixed.

I was trying to work out how far you had got, and couldn't....but then realised your engine is sideways isn't it.....and the Ace is straight up....that's why I was getting confused. Being sideways it looks like it's a bit awkward to work on.

The water does look a but rusty doesn't it....so it will do good to either have a new rad or a good flush out eh....

New rad in and ready. Just to line everything up get belt off and then head off. Basically the difficult bit. Dont need to take belt completely off as its new anyway so does not need replacing.

Sorry to hear about Ophiuchus, same thing happened to me on M6 to Morecambe 12 months ago unfortunately in the middle of the night[no breakdown cover (silly xxxxxx)]so had to call out garage,£150 to tow me 2miles to services, then I had the problem of towing it home.Reconditioned engine(due to engine damage)was the answer, then new radiator. So you are not alone!!

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Looks like you're doing a grand job though. Keep up the good work
