Default Power steering

The power steering assistance is not there when it is cold and sometimes when manouvering at low speed. Any ideas what the problem might be please?

The pump is simple to change, however I suspect that the control valves in the rack are sticking or worn. Very unusual - never heard of that on an Estima before nor worked on a rack on an Estima.

First thing I would do is to change the fluid in the system. Then add this product to clean the system - it is for power steering as well as auto transmission.
Halfrauds £5.99

Use Dexron II or III auto trans fluid. Simplest way to change is to siphon out the reservoir and refill. Run engine and turn steering. Repeat several times.

Let us know how you get on
