| Steve might have a point, my supplier has come back and asked if I want pads or shoes. Didnt think the 1993 models had rear discs. Anybody???? | ||||||||

| Whilst I agree it's a good idea to remove the drums and give it a good clean and check for leaks - the shoe thickness can be checked by taking out the small rubber bung (put there for this purpose) and looking inside directly at the friction material thickness. This can be done without jacking up or removing the wheel as clearance at the rear is sufficient to get to the rear of the drum brake and remove the plug (NOT the one arrowed - that's the plug for the adjuster - it's the one at the bottom left with a small slot in it). | ||||||||

Look through the 'spokes' of the front wheel ... look through the 'spokes' of the back wheel... If they look the same (which I would think ... they don't) you have discs on the rear ... If the back looks completely different to the front then you have (which I would think you have) ... drum brakes at the rear ..!! | |||||||||

| Mike, thats my point, I told them I have drums but they said they could just be for handbrake so I said I couldnt find discs anywhere. On the suppliers site it says the shoes are only suitable for models CXR10G & CXR11G, mine is CXR20G but they say thats OK. I am confused. | ||||||||

| Ian, I have removed the plug, I can see the two layers, brake shoe & lining but the top of the lining is not visible, is that good. The amount of lining I am looking at is only about 0.125" thick, the top of the slot hides the rest from view. | ||||||||
