Default Turbo Light

When I first got the Lucida (tinkerbell to the kidz), the turbo light was usually always on during acceleration and driving. Not that I watch all the time but it only ever seems to come on when I take my foot off of the accelerator.
Its the green light that comes on not the amber one.
Have I connected some pipes the wrong way round???
Cheers.

Whilst it is possible to drive an Estima without the turbo light on, if you want any kind of "performance" or you generally use it with a load the light will often be on.

Mine is a manual transmission, so may well be different, but if I just poodle around (60MPH, slowish acceleration) I can keep the light off. And it's these circumstances that lead to MPG figures of very nearly 40 on diesel fuel...

I assume the turbo light set up is the same as the Townace and run by a pressure take off somewhere between turbo and inlet manifold? If so trace that and it should come to two pressure switches one for green some boost and the other (if fitted) for over boost. somehting wrong if it lights up when off the gas, maybe the leccy connection?

The tube is the same as the black vac tubing just to confuse things, only this blows rather than sucks.

When I first bought the van I had to change the water pump and had to wait for a timing belt due to the one that I was given was the wrong one.
As I can only do these things on a weekend, the van was apart for sometime. Therefore, it is possible I could have connected up the two pipes incorrectly.
However, would have thought something would have gone bang by now!!!
Maybe a look at another Lucy engine would put my mind at rest.
Is there any other members in the chelmsford areas on here at all???
Cheers.

We've got a turbo light on ours, it comes on during acceleration as i'm usually booting it, but i've NEVER known it to come on without the accelerator down.

I'd wait for somone to come along with some mechanical knowledge but it does sound like something's a miss.

I've got a Lucida and my turbo light comes on when i reach about 3000rpm, but then it stays on until I stop the engine, is this normal?

that doesn't sound right Korky, like i said before the Turbo light comes on during acceleration but the second i take my foot off - and the RPM drops - the light goes off.
