Hi! I might be one of the shortest lived members I just joined recently and my Estima has just died. The only warning I had was the gearbox oil light a few minutes before the engine died. Although there was no prior signs of overheating I suspect a head problem as there seems to be little or no compression and no water left .I just spent nearly a grand putting it through an mot and fitting a new heavy duty twin core radiator as suggested by teoc. I'm skint now so unless it turns out to be something simple which I very much doubt it looks like it will be breaking for spares so watch this space!!.
Cheers everyone !! Kenny! |

Hi there....
The first option is usually a new bigger rad.....cos that very often cures the problem without spending out straight away on a new head if one isn't needed. The motto on here is to try the cheapest option first, and work your way gradually through your wallet to the highest cost.... It's a shame the rad didn't work....maybe someone will be on later to give you more advice on it.. Ang x |

Who fitted the rad, sounds like maybe they didnt fill the system properly and left some airlocks.

g day and welcome someone must be accountable if radiator was recently fitted [/quotenot necessarily. even though the rad was probably blocked, which i guess would of been the reason for changing it. that is a symptom of bad circulation and overheating that leads to cracks in the head, temp gauge is very unresponsive and doesnt move till its to late. |

It took 1 day to change rad etc and 4 days to re-fill system. Eh! ![]() It took ages to settle but worth the wait. |
