Hi There,
Just picked up my Hybrid Estima yesterday, a Japanese import. So far loving the car and a quick 200 mile round trip to Belfast and back was one of the comfiest trips I've ever had.
Here in Ireland the hybrid is not available. The car is available under the name 'Previa' but only with thee 2.4 petrol engine so I jumped at the chance when I saw an import.
I'm looking forward to finding out how the fuel economy is and the on board computer will certainly help with that.
The only downside with this car is of course, no manual and 90% of the console is in Japanese!!! Does anyone have a soft copy of a manual for a 2nd generation Estima/Previa???

Hows the hybrid going?
I had a look at second hand prices for 2002 model estima hybrids in Japan. $10,000 AUD with 160K KMs
Thats pretty resonable. Just depends on how good the batteries are. Although Im hearing that the batteries are supposed to have a very good lifespan due to shallow cycling of the batteries.

The batteries would be my concern... good job I am 3 years away from getting one, they'll be well and truly tried and tested by then!

We tried a hybrid 2.4 Estima a few months back, found it to be sluggish & boring, so we ended up going completely the other way & buying the 3 litre V6 instead.
Lousy on fuel around town, only averaging 18-20 Mpg, but on a run at a steady 70 MPH (honest officer, that's all we were doing) she's turning on over 32Mpg, better thatn we got out of our old diesel Townace. So we're really pleased with this one & it'll burn most other stuff off the oine as well. greta fun seeing other driver's faces as you leave them behind off the line in your MPV.
Regards, Rob.
