![]() | Just got a Lucida. On the Tacho are two lights above the word TURBO. Hardish acceleration brings on the first light which is green, Accelerating at cruising speed brings on the second light (amber) to the exclusion of the first, which then stays on till the engine is switched off. Any explanations please? |

![]() | Actuator? The amber one only comes on when there's a problem. If it is the actuator it's a minor job even for a complete novice like me, an hour including tea breaks and lost spanners ![]()

![]() | Yep mine had that problem......changed the actuator....its warning you....dont leave it too long. You may find if you keep it under 2000 revs the orange light doesnt come on.If you put your foot down the turbo kicks in (green light),keep it down...orange light comes on and you loose 'oomph' .Turn engine off. Start again ...ok till you do the above...Dont wait till it breaks down..could end up costing a packet !! Easy job to do. and welcome ![]() (ps. It's a 15 min job!) | |

![]() | Yep apparently there's a chance of doing some serious damage (although I don't know what I never waited long enough to find out) The light can be kept off all the way to 3000rpm if you drive with a very light right foot, while mine was broken I drove so gently I actually got fuel economy up to 28mpg I could still get 75mph without seeing the light it just took a veeeery long time to get there, I got overtaken uphill on a motorway by a Nissan Serena once ![]()

![]() | Just been to the local Toyota Dealer without much success as they have a company policy not to deal with imported vehicles. He said that on the European models, they replace the whole turbo when that light comes on. Any further info on this actuator and where it fits as he might then be able to identify it (with the vehicle details of course)! |

![]() | ste4r clear of toyota garages, but take it to someone who knows these vehicles,it may sound daft but its the truth ![]() lots of people have had new turbos fitted at great expense when its really only been the actuator at fault,is basingstoke darn sarf? if so you are in luck, get in touch with bob,rcmvr.co.uk, [url=http://www.rcmvr.co.uk and save yourself a fortune. ![]()

![]() | Oh and tell the Toyota Dealer Manager that Toyota have a World Wide support agreement! Any Toyota in any country will get support from Toyota, what they mean is we don't want to be bothered, may be worth contacting Toyota UK and tell them. |

![]() | Just ordered shocks and bushes through my local Toyota dealer, "no problem sir might take a few days since it's an import. We'll phone when they're here, probably Wednesday" As said before Toyota should deal with any of their cars, give them a bit of stick for their attitude ![]()
