![]() | Hi folks & BOB I need some HELP fast ...It's the same 'ol story ... overheating when going up hills or worked hard ... I bought my beloved buz (Emina 3TC-E) in Feb 2006 ... Within 6 months cracked it's head so had a brand new one fitted along with a new bigger wider radiator ... everthing seemed OK untill... ....3 months ago I fitted a tow bar & tried to take my small 2 birth caravan on a trip ... We managed to go 6 MILES before it started to overheat !!! ![]() Since then I've read all the clubs posts on this problem & :- 1st ... Changed the oil/air/ fuel filters (flushed the oil first). 2nd .... Complete gearbox ATF flush(including the torque converter) using the ... remove front pipe... run enginef or a few seconds drain 2 litres... top-up & repeat untill nice 'an red ... 3rd ... Flushed out the cooling system using HOLTS heavy duty twin pack kit ... Removed the new radiator & flushed with hose for 20 mins ... refilled with 30% blue coolant mixture ... after 2 hours trying to shift an airlock ... heater nice an hot ... Took my buzz out yesterday with the kids in up a couple of hills to test it & ... OVERHEATING !!!! ![]() So now I need real HELP fast as my wife booked a last minute holiday for us & the rest of the family to go in 3 WEEKS to FRANCE 'an my buzz just won't do it ....!!! I need to get it fixed real quick ... So BOB if your out there ... Please Help I'm DESPERATE !!!! ![]() I live in PRESTON Lancs so (just in case Bobs too busy ) is there anyone a member can recomend who knows these buzzes inside-out & is honest & is in the central Lancahire area .. then please let me know who they are ... ![]() | Hi Found your question whilst looking for answers myself. Unfortunately as I am new to Estimas (and forums), I haven't got a clue. Just wanted to thank you as your point by point run-through on flushing the radiator might just help my wife's new baby (un-named yet), but much loved by the whole family. ![]() | If the rad is new and there is no obvious loss of water from the system (water pump leak) my next step would be to hook out the thermostat and fling it in boiling water to see if it opens. Cheers |

Have you changed it? Did you use genuine Toyota, (apparently this is one item where you should go for genuine ). One thing discussed on Townace forums, ( but I don't think I've seen it here ) , is to drill 3 small holes ( 1mm I think ), into the thermostat to allow a little more coolant flow. Clive will possibly remember that one. Have you checked the viscious coupling on the fan?
