Blobby, maybe if I learnt to not write in riddles then maybe everyone could understand cause Im sure when I speak it comes out in jibberish and
I swear when my fingers hit the keyboard my brain is already typing the last word of the last paragraph.

Now if if I coult get my brain to work in perpetual motion then I might have already finished this project

Had a lot of problems trying to source a belt to suit the toyota pulleys.
Have worked out that they are abot a 9.525 pitch and what I needed using an old belt chopped down was 81 teeth and 770mm long roughly.
Have sourced but not yet arrived a 80 tooth 760mm belt. This should do the job.

Half the problem was that I didnt trust myself in getting the belt and went to belt supplier to source it.

Morale of the story is that you always end up sorting it out yourself.

Hi Bob Paul tells me hes meeting up with you over the weekend, the parts are very much appreciated, all i need now is some advice on what pitfalls to look out for, on a lighter note, what you say about the battery running the car, as you know ive had a lot of trouble with the crank on mine so i considered going down this route, the battery would only be running the motor to the pumps and also to keep the alternator running to keep the battery charged, as once the battery had started the car the alternator would work as normal and the car would be powered buy the fuel from the tank, (i think LOL) thanks again Bob i will make a donation to the Scumball fund when i get things sorted out.

Well the new belt arrived for the 36V motor drive onto the auxilaries up the front. Ive spent a few hours today lining up the drives and getting it to run.
Please forgive the poor video quality as its of my work mobile and not my usual camera.
You can see the setup running just off the cars 12V battery. At 12V it should be turning around 700rpm

I have alligned the pulleys much better than before in the video.
The noise heard was the belt trying to jump the guide flange.
It now tracks in the center of the guide and does not touch the flanges.
Not bad for a backyard workshop!
At 12V the motor was pulling around 20amps just running the power steering pump or 12V X 20Amps = 240Watts at around 700rpm based on my previous maths of 57 something revs/volt so 12 X 57 = 684rpm

The current will always be high at low rpm and low volts, as the volts go up so will the current but as the motor speeds up the amps go back down unless there is a decent load on it.

Im definately going to relocate the battery to the rear as Im going to mount a plastic box for fuses and relays for the numerous fans, pumps and electric gadgets now being installed. This should also make some space for my hydrogen unit to be installed. Maybe even a decent sized container for water methanol container for the liquid intercooling setup...
Just under 4 weeks left until the snow and under 7 weeks until I leave for Japan so things should get very busy shortly.

Watch these pages.

Better pics and video
power steering only will run around 1000rpm
Aircon will then have the motor speed upto 3000rpm

Picked up my pulleys today. They had been bored out to suit my shaft sizes.
I then mounted them including a pulldown and cleanup of the alternators.
I also drilled and tapped the sads shaft guide that bolts onto the crank to now mount the main pulley.

Here I have cut back the original regulator to expose the terminals to the brushes to the rotor. Varying the input voltage to the rotor will vary the output voltage of this alternator depending on the load.

Been busy still trying piece the puzzle together.

Here are some pics of my modified sump. This gives me clearance to run the alternators on the engine.
Ive cut out whats in the way and fabricated it back together. at the bottom of the sump you can see a small tunnel. That is for the oil pickup line to the oil pump.

Mounted the std alternator today to run the 12V system.
The 36V alternator will be mounted off to the side of the std and inline for one belt only.
