Hi all

I went to fill up at my local filling station this morning and noticed that as I put the deisel in there was quite a large leak coming from under the rear wheel arch (same side as fuel). When I stopped the fuel delivery, the leak stopped.

Any one any thoughts?? I thought it could be the pipe between the tank and the fuel cap corroded or something.

Regards

Stef

Yep remove the plastic cover inside the arch and the corroded pipe should be right there. I've done one on a Previa and they are the same part, helpful hint go to a breakers rather than Toyota I think they wanted over £100 for a new one

This might be a common fault waiting to happen as all the Estimas I looked at in the breakers had a lot of mud trapped under the arch there (and presumably salt with it too)

I should think Flirt still has one for sale. You could try her.

Bet your fuel consumption improves quite a bit when you get it fixed!

I think you'll find that Flirt is pretty rapid at getting stuff out. I bet even if you go to Toyota you've got to order it in, and pay a whole lot more for it.

PM her and ask. Then make your mind up.

Not really, once you get the cover off and clear away the mud the nuts and bolts are self explanatory.

Toyota will need to order it in (1-3 days), more importantly breakers yard £10-20 can't actually remember how much but I know for sure that Toyota quoted over £100

Sorry Lucifreak just been a bit tied up.

I'm in Meltham West Yorkshire. A friend of mine has got one for me from the local scrappers for £10.

Mr Mince - can the job be done from wholly under the wheel arch or do I jhave to dismantle a bit of the rear interior in the boot space?

Many thanks for all your help and input boys.

Regards
Stef

From what I remember it's done entirely from outside the bus no major dismantling involved:smile:

Just remember to put the panel back on :sofa:

Metal, can apparently be redone with sink drain pipe but my attempt was less than successful :sofa:
