am very pleased that esie has just passed her mot for another year but i need to completley change the transmission oil ,as ive been told to use dextron 2 by toyota ,can anyone tell me how much to use once she is completley drained she is a 2.2 turbo diesal auto ( in litres please!!)thanks liz

Unfortunately you can't fully drain the gearbox by any know method. The consensus of opinion is that you should either remove the sump drain plug and let out as much as you can or, better still, remove one of the hoses to the ATF cooler at the bottom of the rad and run the engine at idle until the fluid stops flowing, immediately stop the engine, reattach the hose and top up with ~2.5 litres of fresh ATF. You may have to repeat this up to 6 times depending on the state of the ATF when you started, making a change/flush cost 15 litres in total.
Ps. If filtered to sub 5 microns you can add it to your fuel tank to reduce the overall cost of the change
