Well amongst all the fretting and waiting for the caravan to arrive i got a phone call from our Laurens School asking me to pick her up as she's sprained her ankle....Laugh i went mad, The poor thing was crying in pain her foot was all bent up from the swelling around her ankle. I said you must be stupid if you think thats sprained look at it you can see its broke.
So off i went to the hospital with the MRS and youngest, x-ray then to be told its broke.
She's back home now with a temporary cast for two weeks and on some pain killers. She's ok still wimpering bless her.
Cant understand why the school didnt at least try to get her to hospital..??????Posted Image

Oh no, poor lass. Hope she soon starts to feel better.

As has been said already, I'd be down there with the camera, and demanding to see the head, if not the chair of governors.

If the break was that obvious and they failed to spot it then it sounds like they need an urgent review of their health and safety and first aid training!

I'm not one to wrap children in cotton wool, and I really think a lot of "Elvin Safety" goes too far... but it does sound like someone should have done a risk assessment on the state of the playground and found a way to cordon off that part of the playground as a matter of urgency!
If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to a mountain, "Move from here to there" and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.

Similar thing when Emily broke her arm in PE. They said she'd sprained it. Allowed her to get changed back into uniform and, as it was the end of the school day, didn't even contact us. Lesley found out when she went to collect from school, on foot, so Emily had to walk over a mile home, in pain. :lac:

To send a child to hospital from school requires an escort from the school, tough I hear you say well yes I agree but that escort can not make any decisions on the well being of the child. Far better to get you to collect and take her, as they did, but a better description would have prepared you. How long between the acident and you getting called and how long before you got to hospital?

Get the photos, get it in the local paper, see a solicitor.
Don't let them grind you down !
