I can't help but note that some are posting pictures of very high resolution which are way too big to display on a standard monitor in one go. Could everyone please limit the original size to something like 1300 x 800 pixels or less so it's possible to view more than a small fraction of the pic in a single frame?

Just my 2 penn'orth, like and no insult intended, innit.

Good idea H :winks:

A photography forum I'm on insists on 800 pixels on the longest size, fo r photos on forum.
This can be done easily in photobucket, just click on the "EDIT" button :winks:

We do need to remember that some users have difficulties posting images and we wouldn't want to put them off.

Don't be :winks:

You've had enough difficulty getting your pics on the forum. We can't be expecting you to edit them first :winks:

I know that my screen size may be somewhat smaller than most as I'm on my (quite old) laptop which is limited to 1024 x 768 pixels and 15.4" diagonally. However I've seen some pictures posted that are well over double those dimensions. Hell, I could do it myself even with my (also quite old) 4MP, 6MP interpolated, digital camera. Just for personal aesthetics I prefer to use Paint Shop Pro X2 to limit the size to about that of my screen. I do the same when I'm setting up an auction description on eBay.
I suppose that I'm 'lucky' in that I can get almost any software that I want for nothing. Lucky or greedy. Take your pick

It depends on whether you 'post' them directly into the response or use the 'attachments' option. The former resizes them automatically, while the latter displays a thumbnail which points to the original in its original size.
