ive not long had my bus and when i brought it all the gauges worked fine, then one i notice as i was waiting for my kids at school i noticed the temp gauge had gone right down and has stayed there ever since, was just wondering if anybody has had the same problem or knows how to fix it before i pull all the dash out. First things first: Does the cab heater blow out warm - or preferably hot - air?

possibly the wire from the sensor, just above the oil filter, has it had an oil change recently that could of loosened the wire.

Now the first thing to check is that the resistance of the sender changes as the water warms up - assuming that you have a multimeter to do the job. Then you remove the dash (sorry) and do the same at that end. If both these tests are fine only then does the gauge becomes suspect.
