It's amazing the driver was able to tell the tale after wards. Also it's amazing the car stood up to the strain, shows how well made they are i suppose. Good post.

In today's paper she claims that the tanker was passing her in the middle lane when she 'just found herself being pushed sideways' by it and 'cannot recall how it happened'.
I don't think it's much of a stretch of the imagination to assume that she inadvertently twitched the steering wheel to the right and was (relatively) gently scooped up by the front bumper of the truck. Once there her little car would have been below the sight line of the driver who would only have detected a slight reduction in his forward speed.
If her assertion that, once he noticed her there, that "he was all over the place" would be understandable: You don't expect to see a car hooked onto the front of your truck, broadside, every day, do you?

That's what happened to my friend. She thought the trucker had seen her and was giving way, she moved into the middle lane, but he caught her rear corner and spun her around. As you say, once there she was out of sight.
